Ghana internationals Daniel Nii Adjei and Solomon Asante were in action as TP Mazembe hammered Algerian side MO Bejaia 4-1 to clinch the 2016 Caf Confederation Cup with a 5-2 aggregate scoreline at the Stade du TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi on Sunday.

Mazembe recorded a 1-1 draw in the first leg last week in Blida and showed class in front of their home supporters in the return fixture.

Merveille Bope Bokadi handed the hosts an early lead after connecting Jonathan Bolingi's pass on seventh minute before Zambia captain Rainford Kalaba made it 2-0 by the 43rd minute.

Kalaba added another goal to make it 3-0 after the break, when he finished off Asante's through pass to send the supporters into wild jubilations. Sofiane Khadir pulled one back for Bejaia on 75th minute but Jonathan Bolingi restored the hosts' three-goal lead two minutes later.

Asante was substituted for Adama Traore on 69th minute while Christian Koffi replaced Adjei seven minutes later, and the latter could not hide his joy after the final whistle.

"It is a great feeling for me. I am now a Caf Champions League and Confederations Cup winner. I am really happy and will forever remember this day because this is the only trophy that Mazembe had not won before in our history," Adjei said.

"I could not achieve a lot in Ghana but Congo and TP Mazembe have given me the perfect platform to showcase my talent. I know the supporters are excited and will forever remember my role in this achievement we chalked over the years," he added.

Mazembe, after the victory will face Caf Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns in the Caf Super Cup in February 2017.
